A social entrepreneur and media dynamo, Abbe Silverberg Sparks been promoting Fortune 500 companies, entertainment and non-profit organizations for over 25 years. She has broad background in all aspects of communications with expertise in brand strategy, social media marketing, content development, publicity and advocacy. Over the years, Abbe has worked for some of the nation’s most prestigious companies and nonprofits that include Viacom Inc., Showtime Networks Group, the National Restaurant Association’s International Food Safety Council, McDonald’s Corporation and Chicago Metro Association for the Education of Young Children. She has worked with numerous government, industry and consumer groups, including The Partnership for Food Safety Education, The Partnership for Drug Safety Education, political action committees, the American Medical Association, and state and local health agencies.
Branching out on her own in the ’90s as a public relations consultant, she has long since morphed into her own company, Abbe Sparks Media Group (ASMG). Born from a foundation based on traditional communications values, ASMG is based on Abbe’s belief that an integrated ‘one company, one voice’ approach is the key to maximizing earned, owned and paid media and igniting the Sparks! Her Motto: Do it with Passion or not at all! Her company continues to evolve to reflect the ever-changing digital landscape and consumer behaviors.
Abbe’s newest venture is the digital cultural news site Socially Sparked News — based on the ASMG 2013 blog Socially Sparked — which spotlights the people, events and causes that Socially Sparked® our lives. With her 2015 weekly blog “ABBE’S SPARKS”, which covered all things marcom for RFPALOOZA; her subsidiary company Abbe Sparks Media Relations and strategic alliances across all digital marketing platforms, she has become known as a sought after influencer, mentor and interviewee. Most recently, Abbe was selected as a ‘Woman of Distinction’ in her field by the National Association of Distinguished Professionals.
An active alumni of Emory University, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts & Sciences. A giver in her everyday life, Abbe serves as an Officer of the Board of Ripple Effect Artists, an actor’s equity 501(c) 3 theatre company that produces plays about social action, and Women of the Blues, a 501 (c) 3 Illinois not-for-profit organization. She is also an advisor for The Florence Belsky Charitable Foundation. Past President and 11-year board member of NorthShore University HealthSystem’s Auxiliary, Abbe has counseled pro bono a multitude of health, civic and cultural nonprofit organizations.
