The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem at Highland Park Hospital

 Help Retrace 90 Years of Auxiliary History in Our Community!

 

HIGHLAND PARK, IL (November 15, 2010) – The Auxiliary of NorthShore University HealthSystem (NorthShore) at Highland Park Hospital is in search of memorabilia spanning 90 years. As the Auxiliary at Highland Park Hospital gears up to celebrate its 90th birthday in 2011, it is calling on the community at large to help them find everything and anything pertaining to the Auxiliary and Highland Park Hospital. Items can include old medical equipment, homemade crafts bought at the Alcove Gift Shop, gurneys, nurses’ uniforms, doctors’ jackets, old army uniforms that the Auxiliary sewed, machines, bills, newspaper clippings, photos, vehicles (ambulances), signs, holiday cards, memorial cards, annual reports and more.

Established in 1921, The Auxiliary at Highland Park Hospital is a volunteer organization that raises funds and friends for and provides services to Highland Park Hospital and the communities it serves. Since its inception, the Auxiliary has proudly contributed to many significant Hospital programs including a $1 million dollar contribution to the Ambulatory Care Center, the establishment of a Primary Stroke Center and over half a million dollars of its current $1 million dollar pledge to support Be Well-Lake County, a diabetes awareness, education, prevention and treatment program for underserved patients in our community.  The Auxiliary supports the community with many programs that include: Mobile Meals, LifeSource Blood Drive, Remembrance Fund, NorthShore Kids Corner, Highand Park High School Student Board and Employee Scholarship.
