Seth Rudetsky – Deconstructing Broadway

AUGUST 27 2010, CHICAGO–Broadway luminary Seth Rudetsky making his Chicago debut, will perform his hilarious one-man show Deconstructing Broadway for two nights only in October, 8th and 9th.

AUGUST 27 2010, CHICAGOBroadway luminary Seth Rudetsky making his Chicago debut, will perform his hilarious one-man show Deconstructing Broadway for two nights only in October, 8th and 9th.  A presentation of Chicago-based MSG Productions, LLC, Producer Missy Greenberg is responsible for bringing this Broadway mega talent to the Windy City. Seth is the star of Sirius/XM Radio’s daily Broadway show and was also featured as the on-camera vocal coach on MTV’s Legally Blonde: Search for Elle Woods reality television show. As a comic, he won the title “Funniest Gay Male in NY” at Stand-Up NY, had a long-running show at Caroline’s Comedy Club and spent two years as a comedy writer on THE ROSIE O’DONNELL SHOW (three Emmy nominations).  Seth was recently featured on two episodes of the Kathy Griffin show this season.

Bringing his own private video and audio collection, Seth will show Chicagoland audiences how to deconstruct what’s vocally amazing (Patti LuPone in Evita) and what’s a vocal travesty (Madonna singing the same material). Video highlights (lowlights?) include the short-lived Brady Bunch Variety Hour and Cher performing all of the roles in West Side Story. The video and audio clips are the vehicle by which this entertaining humorist delivers his incredibly intelligent and insightful theater and music-related comedy. Seth’s enthusiasm for superior vocal talent and his love of theater is infectious and his on stage delivery of his material never fails to have the entire audience aching from laughter.

Notes: Recent rave reviews of the show include: “Seth Deconstructing Broadway: sharing everything from his private video collection and showing you how to deconstruct. Learn how to analyze 70’s variety shows and question why there was a distinct lack of blinking. You’ll be able to differentiate the best belting in the world versus Bonnie Franklin. Judge classic videos like ‘The Brady Bunch Variety Hour,’ the Liza/Joel Grey/Ben Vereen Spiritual Medley, and a time-lapsed Barbra Streisand singing ‘People’ while she’s being forced to take it down a third and then a fourth as she progressively ages. Finally, see the clips ‘they’ don’t want you to see!”Andrew Gans, Playbill. Visit Seth’s website: http:sethrudetsky.com
