A media dynamo with in-house and agency experience, Abbe Silverberg Sparks has been promoting Fortune 500 companies, entertainment and non-profit organizations for over 20 years. She has a broad background in all aspects of communications with expertise in brand strategy, social media marketing, content development and publicity. Over the years, she has enjoyed successfully crafting marketing communications programs for some of the nation’s most prestigious companies that include Viacom Inc., Showtime Networks Group, the National Restaurant Association’s International Food Safety Council, McDonald’s Corporation, Chicago Metro Association for the Education of Young Children and Steamboat Casino River Cruises. She has worked with numerous government, industry and consumer groups, including The Partnership for Food Safety Education, The Partnership for Drug Safety Education, political action committees, the American Medical Association, and state and local health agencies.
Branching out on her own in the ’90s as a public relations consultant, she has long since morphed into her own company, Abbe Sparks Media Group, which specializes in social media marketing, content, branding and advocacy. Her newest venture is the launch of digital news site Socially Sparked News — based on her 2013 blog Socially Sparked — which spotlights the people, events and causes that socially spark our lives. With her 2015 weekly blog “ABBE’S SPARKS”, which covered all things marcom for RFPALOOZA; her subsidiary company Abbe Sparks Media Relations and strategic alliances across all marcom platforms, she has become known as a sought after influencer. Most recently, Abbe was selected as a ‘Woman of Distinction’ in her field by the National Association of Distinguished Professionals. A member in good standing with the Better Business Bureau (A+ rating) and listed in the Continental Who’s Who Registry of National Business Leaders, her company continues to evolve to reflect the true nature of its services. An active alumni of Emory University, she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the College of Arts & Sciences. A giver in her everyday life, Abbe serves as an Officer of the Board of Ripple Effect Artists, an actor’s equity 501(c) 3 theatre company that produces plays about social action, and Women of the Blues, a 501 (c) 3 Illinois not-for-profit organization. She is also an advisor for The Florence Belsky Charitable Foundation and The Actor’s Temple in NYC. Past President and 11-year board member of NorthShore University HealthSystem’s Auxiliary, Abbe has counseled pro bono a multitude of health, civic and cultural not-for-profit organizations. Her pride and joy: her two college-aged children.
